CES: Three new cameras, lenses from Panasonic

Panasonic showed several new cameras at CES 2017, including the much-rumoured Lumix GH5, the entry-level Lumix GX850, the Lumix FZ80 (60x superzoom) and new Leica and Lumix G lenses.
The 20-megapixel GH5 records 4K 10-bit 4:2:2 25/30p video to SD Card, and will record 4K video at 50/60 frames per second. In its 6K Photo mode it can record a burst of 18-megapixel still images continuously at 30fps with no buffer limit.

It won’t be available in Australia until April. Panasonic has kindly supplied local pricing details:

The Lumix GX850 has a 16-megapixel sensor and Venus Engine processor. The 3-inch 1.04 million dot touch control monitor flips 180 degrees, triggering the Self Shot Mode. There is a range of selfie-taking options available, including a Buddy mode which detects two faces in a composition, and Panorama selfie.   
The GX850 will be available in March in orange, pink and black. With a Lumix G VARIO 12-32mm lens it will have an RRP of $799.

The FZ80 features a 60x zoom lens (20mm to 1200mm) and an 18-megapixel sensor (1/2.3-inch). It has a 1.17milliion dot viewfinder with a 60 fps refresh rate that minimises image lag. The 3-inch 1.04 million dot touch control monitor provides quick focusing and shutter release, and supports after-shooting operations including selecting 4K screen grabs. Full manual control and selectable P/A/S/M modes allow advanced users to enjoy more creative photography.
The FZ80 will be available in March at an RRP of $599.

Panasonic will add five new lenses to its Lumix G line-up in February and March, although four a just updates to existing models.

The dust- and splash-resistant Leica DG Vario-Elmarit 12-60mm f2.8-4.0 ASPH Power OIS is the first Leica-branded f2.8-4.0 lens from Panasonic, with plans to add a 8-18mm  wide zoom lens and 50-200mm telephoto zoom lens.

The lens is scheduled for local release in March at an RRP of $1199.

The Lumix G Vario 45-200mm f4-5.6 II is due for release in February at $599.

The Lumix G Vario 100-300mm f4-5.6 II (pictured right) is also due for release in February at $899.

The Lumix G X Vario 12-35mm f2.8 II is due for release in March at $1199.

The Lumix G X Vario 35-100mm f2.8 II also coming in March, has an RRP of $1399.
