The LX100 has a 12.8-megapixel, 4/3-inch (1.6x larger than 1-inch) MOS sensor, in combination with a newly-developed Venus Engine processor with a quad-core CPU. It features multiple noise reduction systems such as Multi Process NR, Random Filter and Aperture Filter to ensure natural-looking images, even in very low-light. Creative Control functions provide 22 options, including Creative Panorama.
The fast Leica DC Vario-Summilux f1.7-f2.8 lens covers a focal length range of 24-75mm (35mm equivalent). The integrated Live viewfinder (LVF) has 2,764,000-dot resolution. Controls include an aperture ring, a control ring, a shutter speed dial and an exposure compensation dial. High speed burst shooting is available at 11 fps in full resolution.
Advanced movie capabilities include support for 4K video recording as well as high-resolution Full HD 1,920 x 1,080 50p videos in AVCHD Progressive (MPEG-4 / H.264) format. A dedicated button on the top of the camera lets users instantly start recording videos while shooting photos. The LX100 also offers ‘4KPhoto mode’ which allows users to easily grab a still image from 4K video footage shot on the camera.
The LX100 also includes Focus Peaking, Level Gauge, WB (white balance) and Multi Aspect bracketing and highlight/shadow control as well as integrated Wi-Fi and NFC connectivity.
