Panasonic has provided pricing and release dates for digital compacts announced at CES in January.
The new cameras are scheduled for release in April, 2014. The Lumix TZ60 (pictured right) latest in the popular ‘travel zoom’ range, is $549, while the LZ40 is $349 and the SZ8 $249.
Both the TZ60 and SZ8 will be offered in black and silver, while the LZ40 will only be available in black.
The TZ60 is the first TZ-series camera to support raw file capture. It provides full manual control in manual mode with a Control Ring that can be used to adjust aperture, shutter speed, focusing and filters. It has a 30x optical zoom lens with a Hybrid OIS+ optical image stabiliser and 0.2-inch LVF with 200K-dot resolution.
It also comes with built-in GPS that can show the name of the country, state, city, and landmark. The LZ40 features a 42x optical zoom lens with a 22mm ultra wide angle, integrated with an Optical Image Stabiliser. Panasonic’s iA (Intelligent Auto) mode is augmented with up to 15 Creative Filters available for photo, video and panorama photos.
The SZ8 features a 12x optical zoom, 24mm ultra wide angle lens and 16-megapixel sensor.
All three cameras feature integrated Wi-Fi and Near Field Communication (NFC) technology that makes Wi-Fi connection to smart devices easy. Users can also save photos to the Panasonic exclusive cloud service ‘Lumix Club’ and transfer still images or MP4 videos to popular social network sites
