The 2013 conference offers a diverse speaker line-up including landscape photographer Michael Kenna; wedding photographer Flavio Bandiera (Italy); fashion shooter Grant Matthews; portrait photographer Bella West (England); commercial photographer Blake Discher (USA); fine art photographer Jennifer B Hudson (USA); plus another 18 of Australia’s leading photographers and experts in their fields.

National president of the AIPP, Kylie Lyons, said The Event is ‘more than a conference, it’s an experience that redefines how we as professional photographers learn, share and network.

‘Over the past four years The Event has developed an international reputation for offering the most comprehensive line up of renowned speakers and exceptional content, designed to help and inspire working photographers at all stages of their careers.’

A large component of The Event is the social program specifically designed to allow photographers to ‘network and relax’. Sunday’s program features a private viewing at the internationally acclaimed MONA Gallery in Hobart, followed by an informal cocktail party in the Gallery.

Hobart’s iconic landmarks and picturesque surrounds provide the perfect backdrop to the 15 practical workshops on offer. These workshops are restricted in numbers and are expected to sell out early.

Running in conjunction with The Event will be a dedicated trade show specifically aimed at the working photographer with representatives and products from some of Australia’s leading trade suppliers.

More detail are available on The Event’s website.
