May 11, 2011 – Australia is home to 4 out of 10 of the world’s best wedding photographers, according to annual ratings from US magazines American Photo and Popular Photo.
Four Australian wedding photographers – Melbourne-based Rocco Ancora and Yervant Zanazanian, Queensland’s Marcus Bell and industry newcomer, Jonas Peterson, have been recognised as the best on the planet by Popular Photo, the world’s most popular photography magazine, and its sister publication American Photo in a 12-page pictorial essay, ‘Meet The Cliché Killers’.
Each year the publications list the 10 best wedding photographers as nominated by the magazines’ editors, and photographers across the globe. The results have just been published in the May/June edition of American Photo.
This is the first time so many Australian photographers have been among the top 10.
‘Australian wedding photographers have a unique style and a vast array of talent. AIPP accredited photographers have an added professional advantage and maintain this through ongoing industry updates and training, keeping them at the forefront of the industry on a global level,’ said AIPP executive officer, Peter Myers. All four photographers are AIPP members.
