Canon, Fujifilm bosses feature at NSW event

September 14, 2011: PMA and PICA are organising a ‘Photographic Industry Review’ in Sydney, at the North Ryde RSL on Tuesday, September 27.

This is in line with previously outlined plans to have just one meeting each six months, spaced between the Imaging & Entertainment Expo and Conference in June and the Christmas party.

‘This will provide a venue for retailers and suppliers to mix, be updated with the current industry information and have input into coming industry events,’ John Ralph, PMA Territorial Vice-President, NSW, wrote to PMA members.

Guests for the evening are Dave Marshall, who will provide a long-awaited update on the 2012 product exhibition in Melbourne, Jason McLean, who will address Canon’s contentious move to set up a direct online channel, and Richard Robertson, who will be the star attraction at an optional dinner following the meeting.

The event starts at 6.15 with the dinner to follow ($25/head plus drinks) at 8.15pm.

Partners and staff members are welcome and the event is not restricted to PMA members and associates.

‘Other industry members are most welcome to attend and it is only by opening up our functions in this way can we expect our various organisations to grow, wrote Mr Ralph.

‘Could all PMA members let your friendly reps know, we would love to see them there!’
