Samsung has released a couple of ‘Smart Signage TVs’ for in-store digital signage, the 40-inch RMD40D (RRP $886) and the 48-inch RMD48D (RRP $1228). (From Officeworks.)
Retailers can divide the display screen in multiple sections and show a wide range of materials from promotional banners to menus in formats including TV, video, or still images and text. The embedded content management system enables creation and display of promotions, even from a mobile device. It is delivered as a turn-key offering that includes the commercial display, content management software, stand and wall mount.
The HD display has a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 and a 350 nit brightness rating combined with a 50,000:1 contrast ratio for good performance in brightly lit areas.
The package is the LED TV with an embedded TV tuner and stand, easy-to-use content management software, TV tuner, embedded WiFi, a TV remote control, and VESA-compatible mounting accessories.
Content can be delivered to the embedded media player via a USB or wirelessly from a WiFi-enabled mobile device. The system comes with 200 design templates and sample imagery. Warranty is three years.
