New Canon cameras

Canon Australia has announced late March availability of two new 24-megapixel APS-C format DSLRs, the EOS 77D and EOS 800D, and a mirrorless model, the EOS M6, sporting the same Dual AF sensor.

No local pricing supplied, but US online retailers have the 800D (Rebel T7i) at US$749 body only (about $1100 with GST) and US$899 with 18-55mm lens (about $1300 with GST). The EOS 77D has US pricing of US $899 body only and US$1049 with 18-55mm lens (about $1500).

The EOS M6 has a US price of US$779, and US$899 with a 15-45mm kit lens. It doesn’t have an electronic viewfinder, but there is a high-resolution accessory EVF available.

Canon also announced a new generation DSLR kit lens, the EF-S 18-55mm f/4-5.6 IS STM, which it says is the smallest non-retractable DSLR kit lens of its focal range – plus a new the Remote Controller, BR-E1.
