New Canon mirrorless in November

Canon Australia has announced November availability of the interchangeable mirrorless EOS M10, featuring an 18-megapixel sensor and hybrid CMOS AF, and the EF-M 15-45mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM standard zoom lens.

Canon-M10The hybrid AF and a 49-point AF system combine to deliver fast and accurate focus in stills and video.  It has a 3-inch LCD touchscreen with customisable menus. ISO range is 100–12,800 (expandable to 25.600).

Creative Assist Mode provides less experienced photographers with easy-to-understand instructions while for the clever dicks, the front dial provides quick access to advanced settings, including aperture and shutter speed.

The screen itself tilts up to 180 degrees, and when tipped to the maximum 180 degrees the camera automatically launches self portrait mode.

Built in Wi-Fi connectivity enables transferring and storing photos and movies directly from the camera to the internet, while Dynamic NFC offers transfer and share images to your phone ‘with a tap’. With the EOS Canon Camera Connect app you can take advantage of Wireless Remote Shooting with full manual control.

The EF-M 15-45mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM weighs just 130g. It includes three aspherical lenses, and Canon claims a 3.5 stop advantage for its optical image stabilisation system. For videograpgers the lens also includes STM technology for smooth and near silent focusing whilst filming.

The EOS M10 and EF-M 15-45mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM will be available from the end of November 2015. Canon Australia has not supplied RRPs. Canon USA Direct pricing is US$850 ($1160) for the M10 with EF-M 15-45mm IS STM and 55-200mm IS STM lenses. The EF-M 15-45mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM lens US price is US$300 ($410).
