Photo history now an e-book

The recently-released A History of Professional Photography in Australia, written by former photo magazine publisher and IDEA executive director Paul Curtis has now been released as an e-book.

BookCoverPic-33kbWritten in a light and entertaining style, the book covers the period from the taking of the first photograph in Australia to the present day. It tells the story of the characters involved and the equipment and processes used to chronicle the Australian way of life in pictures.

The book also includes mini-biographies of the more than 120 photographers who have been honoured by the Australian Institute of Professional Photography.

The e-book version contains all of the original printed book illustrations plus some new pictures. It can be downloaded from eBook specialist Talu Books at http://www.taluebookstore.com in Kindle, iPad and other popular formats at just $9.98.

Alternatively, it can be obtained direct from the Amazon Kindle store or the iTunes iBook Store.

Hard copy editions of the 222-page book, which has more than 40 pages of colour illustrations and a listing of Australia’s top ten iconic photos, and can be obtained from Talu Books, L&P or from the AIPP on-line store at a cost of $38.50.
