The amazing thing was the relatively benign toll the years had taken on the folk gathered for the Kodak reunion last Saturday at the Town Hall Hotel, Balmain.
Although there seemed to be some kind of weird hyper-gravitational force dragging looser bits and pieces of the ex-Kodakers downwards, everyone looked in remarkably good form.
Over 70 ex-Kodak employees (with John Swainston in attendance in his usual industry role as photographer) came from NSW and beyond to quote Peter Rose, ‘to swap “war stories”, and more importantly, to renew old friendships.’ A few drinks were also imbibed.
Prizes were given for those who travelled the furthest to attend, (Alan Logue from SA, and Rod Attenborough from FNQ). John Swainston was joined by Peter Rattray in capturing the day in pictures..
And speaking of pictures – we present a selection below. But there’s a problem! I left seeking help with the captioning too late, so i haven’t been able to include as many as I would have liked.
Go to Peter Rattray’s Kodak Reunion Flickr page and John Swainston’s Kodak Reunion Flickr page if you just can’t get enough of pictures of old guys (and a few old girls) from Kodak.
Special thanks to Billy McCall for organising the event and ‘Balmain’ Barry Bidwell for organising the venue.
To quote Peter once again: ‘A lovely day and one that will be remembered.’

Some of our best and worst TSR’s are featured here 🙂
Gee Phil, coming from an ex Agfa Man (competitor rep at the time) that almost sounds like a compliment! Those were the Days eh! 🙂
Thanks to Billy McCall. This was a great day, and well worth coming over to. The Sydney 2000 T Shirt was a bonus!!!!
Lets do it again in another 10 year!
