The Digital Playground is all about photography (so why is the word ‘Photography’ hidden in the fine print?)

The Digital Playground takes place this weekend (May 31 – June 2) at the Overseas Passenger Terminal, Circular Quay.

The terminal will house equipment and photo exhibitions, talks and workshops by leading photographers and other events to appeal to photographers of all ages and at all levels of expertise.

All exhibits and expositions will be free and open to the public, although some talks and lectures will attract an entry fee. Details can be found here: http://www.thedigitalplayground.com.au/.

Nikon will host free Nikon School Workshops (prior registration required) while Canon is running a live version of its Photo5 photographic challenge and promoting its Canon Academy courses. Specialist photo book producer, Momento, will run demonstrations on how to turn photos in to stylish, personalised coffee-table books, cards, calendars or diaries.

Ted’s Cameras will have a temporary camera store open downstairs in the ‘Cargo Hold’ of The Overseas Passenger Terminal. While Ted’s will have a range of products on sale, Canon says it has partnered with Ted’s in offering a selection of Canon product bundles. Canon says it will also make Vivid Show bundles available to attendees via the Canon Online Store until June 10.
