Sieglind D’Arcy, CEO of leading photo accessories distributor Adeal Pty Ltd, has announced the appointment of David Burlew to the new role of Chief Operating Officer.
The role has been defined as ‘managing, measuring and improving the performance and efficiency of the company.’
Mr Burlew (pictured right) has had extensive experience at executive and board level within multinational businesses, predominantly across the retail, distribution, industrial and manufacturing sectors.
For the past decade he has held national roles in the industrial sector, specialising in mining and metals/minerals processing across southern Asia, Australia and New Zealand. Additionally, he has held head of franchise roles for the retail networks of Goodyear and Nissan Motor Company, and as head of M&A for a Pacific Dunlop division.
‘Adeal, is full of clever and passionate people, and the company’s focus on good business practices is closely aligned with my own. It’s a strong cultural fit,’ he said, adding that he was looking forward to better understanding the operation of the photographic industry.
‘While I’m very familiar with a distribution business model, I love learning about new products and their application.
‘My first impressions are that this is a fast-paced sector, and the the technology/product curve is a steep one.
‘This is going to be fun!’ he added.
There are no other changes flagged by Adeal, with Sieglind D’Arcy remaining at the helm, and as sole shareholder of the privately-held company.
With the appointment of David Burlew to the new role, she will have more opportunity to help develop sales and marketing strategies.
