Professional printing roadshow for east coast

DES, Image Products and Canon have teamed up to present three professional imaging roadshows that will highlight emerging technologies, imaging possibilities and business opportunities to be found in the quickly growing field of digital fine art.

Themed under the banner ‘Input, Output, Display’, these roadshows will give professional photographers, digital imaging professionals and digital printers – including the increasing numbers of photo retailers now printing high-margin wide format and canvas in-house – the opportunity to investigate the latest technology available for high quality digital image capture; colour correction and ICC profiles; printing fine art images on paper, canvas and other specialised substrates; plus laminating, framing and mounting.

The free roadshows will be presented in Brisbane on February 20-21, in Sydney on February 27-28, and in Melbourne on March 5-6. They will open at midday on the first day and continue until 9pm, then reopen at 8:30am the following morning, continuing until midday, providing a range of times to participate.

The roadshows will be divided into the three major areas of interest — Input, Output and Display — and will be held in workshop formats, rather than static seminar presentations, to encourage attendee participation. This will enable attendees to get ‘up close and personal’ with the latest equipment and technologies, ask questions of the experts from the three major sponsors, and see for themselves the business opportunities that these emerging technologies present to imaging professionals.

Among the manufacturers represented will be Canon (cameras and printers), X-Rite colour management equipment and software, German paper mill Hahnemühle’s fine art papers, Breathing Color’s high quality canvas from the USA, and many more.

‘DES is delighted to be the major sponsor and exhibitor at these roadshows,’ said Russell Cavenagh, national sales director at DES Pty Ltd. ‘They will provide all imaging professionals, from photographers through to framers and digital printers, the chance to see the very latest capabilities available to them to develop their skills, learn more about this fast-growing area of digital imaging, and to discover new business opportunities.’

‘Our expert staff will be on hand for the entire roadshows, so anyone who wishes to learn more about any particular aspect of these vitally important areas of digital imaging, can see for themselves what is happening right now, both here and overseas, and take new ideas back to their businesses.’
