Kodak has announced that Independent Photographic Supplies New Zealand (IPS NZ) will assume sales and distribution of Kodak media, paper and chemistry from Croxley.
Kodak’s agreement with IPS NZ will commence on September 3, with IPS set to work with Kodak Express stores and affiliated independent photo retailers across New Zealand.
The move comes as Kodak looks to build its relationship with IPS NZ in the photo specialty channel. Kodak is currently working with Independent Photographic Supplies (IPS) in
Australia, and Kodak says the new arrangement will increase synergies across the region.
The management and distributorship partnership with Croxley started in April 2009 and included support of the Kodak Express franchise stores and the launch of Kodak consumer products into new retail channels. Kodak noted that the change of distribution is not a reflection on Croxley’s performance.
‘We’ve really enjoyed working with Croxley,’ said Grant Campbell, country manager, Kodak New Zealand.
‘Kodak New Zealand is refocusing its strategy around the photo industry and looking for regional brand synergies. It has been an amicable split with both parties separating on good terms, and we wish Croxley well.’
‘We’re pleased to be supplying and supporting the full range of Kodak Consumer and Professional Products in New Zealand,’ said IPS NZ business manager, Brian Kearney.
‘The sales team at IPS NZ has over 55 years combined experience in the photographic industry, and is well placed to handle the current and future product needs of the NZ Kodak Express Group, along with professional, wholesale, schools, government and independent photo specialty labs.’
