January 10, 2012: Samsung has announced additions to its compact digicam and digital camcorder ranges, slated for local release between February and April.
Three Wi-Fi enabled cameras, the WB850F (RRP $399), WB150F (RRP $249) and DV300F (RRP $199), will be added to the SMART Camera line-up, bringing the convenience of being able to upload photos to Twitter, Facebook or YouTube at the touch of a button.
Users can also take advantage of Samsung’s special AllShare lockers for downloading at a later date. The Samsung Mobile Link makes it easy to share, store and view photos via Samsung’s home and portable devices, such as smart phones, tablets and internet-enabled TV sets. An innovative Wi-Fi Remote Viewfinder also lets users remotely control camera settings and set-up shots via a Samsung smart phone.
New additions to Samsung’s ST range include the ST88 (RRP $169), ST77 (RRP $149) and ST66 (RRP $129), which feature 16-megapixel CCD sensors, 5x optical zoom lenses with optical image stabilisation and brushed-metal bodies. Arriving in March and April, they are pocketable and support 720p HD movie recording, Smart Auto modes and Live Panorama.
Samsung’s Q20 camcorder features a new Switch Grip 2 which increases flexibility to three recording angles-horizontal, vertical and left-to-right. This model features 1080i Full HD recording, a 20x optical zoom lens and creative functions in a slim and portable body. The F80 is a family-friendly camcorder with 720p HD capabilities and upgraded image quality in an affordable package. The F80 will be available at an RRP $219 from February, 2012 and the Q20 will be available for $329 from March, 2012.
