HP and its photo specialist distributor Photo Direct have announced that the auto-duplexing Photosmart ML2000D minilab printer is now available in Australia, and are offering one-on-one demonstrations of the new machine.
‘In today’s cut throat 4×6 print market, retailers are looking for products that deliver greater margin without over-capitalising in hardware,” said Mark Loosschilder, business development manager, HP Retail Publishing Solutions.
‘The HP Photosmart ML2000D enables retailers to maintain their traditional 4×6 and photo business, while expanding into higher margin, superior quality in-store photobooks, calendars, greetings and more from the one versatile dry minilab.’
HP says it has the largest installed base of dry microlabs and mini-labs in the South Pacific market.
ML2000D key features:
Versatility: 20 single-sided photo sizes, automatic production of borderless, double-sided photo books and calendars in four print sizes, from 6×6, 8×8, 11×8.6 and12x12 inch. Double-sided greeting cards and DVD covers.
Speed: Up to 1500 4×6 photos/hour; up to 35 photo books an hour. HP says this is ‘double the speed of the competition.’
‘Low touch’ operation: 3000 prints produced to the high-capacity tray before the cartridges need refilling.
Quality: Smudge and water-resistant prints ‘that will resist fading for over 200 years’.
Environmentally friendly: No wet chemicals, dry and recyclable prints with one third of the power consumption compared to silver-halide systems.
