Sony announces new T-series Cyber-shots

March 21, 2011: Sony Australia has introduced new additions to its Cyber-shot T series digital cameras: the TX10; TX100V;and T110.

The press release continues, with only a few superlatives deleted…

Proving that tough doesn’t mean big and bulky, the hero model of the new Cyber-shot T series, TX10
(pictured right), is as rugged as it is stylish. Tougher than its slim design would suggest, the TX9 (sic, I think) offers waterproof functionality of up to five metres, is drop proof from heights of 1.5, dust proof and even freeze proof to -10 degrees Celsius.

Whether you’re on land, at the pool or scouting the aquatic life at your favourite snorkelling location, the TX10 boasts a 1080i high-definition AVCHD (1920 x 1080, 50i) recording format, so users can enjoy video at a touch of a button. Furthermore, the TX10 works the same underwater as it does above, allowing users to flick and drag through images.

Sony’s Intelligent Sweep Panorama Mode can now capture 42.9 megapixel still images – the highest resolution among all compact digital still cameras. Using either the TX10 or the TX100V, click the shutter and capture scenes with a sweeping motion. The image can then be view on the camera’s large 3-inch LCD screen or in Full HD on a Bravia LCD TV.

The new T series captures images and video whether you’re snapping during the day or at night. Both the TX10 and TX100V have a 16.2 megapixel Exmor R CMOS sensor, AVCHD video and 3D still image capability, while all three models have a 4x optical zoom and 25mm wide-angle lens.

The Cyber-shot T series is available from this month. The TX10 has a RRP of $499, the TX100V has a RRP of $599 and the T110 has a RRP of $299.
