New prime macro lens from Nikon

Nikon Australia has announced
 the
 release
 of
 the
 AF‐S
 Nikkor 40mm
 f2.8G,
 Micro lens, an APS-C‐format
 prime lens designed for macro photography.

The
 relatively bright and fast 40mm
 f2.8
 enables
 shooting
 as
 close
 as
 16cm for
 capturing detailed 
 life-size
 images of small subjects. Maximum reproduction ratio is 1;1. Minimum aperture is f22.

The
 lens 
features a 
 
built‐in
 Silent
 Wave 
Motor that
 enables
 
quiet
 autofocus
 ‐
 vital 
for 
close‐up 
photography 
of insects 
and 
animals. It can also be focussed manually.

The
 AF‐S
 Nikkor 40mm
 f2.8G 
will 
be 
available 
from
 Nikon 
stockists 
from August 
25 at an 
RRP of $449.
