Nikon Australia has announced
the
release
of
the
AF‐S
Nikkor 40mm
f2.8G,
Micro lens, an APS-C‐format
prime lens designed for macro photography.
The
relatively bright and fast 40mm
f2.8

16cm for
capturing detailed

images of small subjects. Maximum reproduction ratio is 1;1. Minimum aperture is f22.
The lens features a built‐in Silent Wave Motor that enables quiet autofocus ‐ vital for close‐up photography of insects and animals. It can also be focussed manually.
