Fujifilm CloudNET to provide solutions

October 27, 2010: Fujifilm Australia has launched a new ‘solution providing’ business unit upon which it has bestowed the name ‘CloudNET‘.

The Fujifilm press release continues:

Building on the proven online marketing, applications development and network & storage capabilities developed for the Imaging market, ‘CloudNET’ will pursue the development and commercialisation of a broader range of industry relevant value-adding service capabilities.

‘”CloudNET” will provide a range of solutions that will help customers grow and better manage their business capabilities and opportunities through the provision of digital asset management services, analogue-to-digital transition programs, bespoke application integration and a range of pay-as-you-go, software-as-a-service, and online storage solutions,’ said Dave Marshall, managing director, Fujifilm Australia.

“Sturt Eastwood, who over the past several months has been instrumental in developing the ‘CloudNET’ concept and strategy, has recently been appointed general manager of ‘CloudNET’ and Graphic Systems.

‘Progressively, Sturt will be taking the ‘CloudNET’ offerings to market enabling customers to take advantage of Fujifilm’s Cloud-based solutions to help grow their business,’ he said.

(Note: According to Wikipedia, ‘The Cloud’ is nerdspeak for internet-based software.)
