Panasonic partners with Camera House in workshops

Panasonic is embarking on a three-state roadshow visiting Camera House stores to help promote its Lumix TZ range of travel cameras.

Doug-CampbellNoted young travel/Instagram photographer Rob Mulally will head up 2-hour workshops for Camera House customers at 27 stores in Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland.

‘Panasonic is excited to join with Camera House to offer its customers this special opportunity to get hands-on with the latest Lumix TZ cameras,’ said Doug Campbell, senior product manager, Lumix, for Panasonic Australia (pictured right). ‘We have a close relationship with our specialist retailers and this latest venture follows a very successful 2015 for Panasonic and the channel, driven by the release of  a number of innovative G series cameras. We hope to work together with specialists to drive further strong initiatives.’

Star of the show (apart from Rob) will be the Editor’s Choice-winning compact travel camera, the Lumix TZ110 (below right), the latest in Panasonic’s venerable Travel Zoom range. The new model brings the series up-to-date with a larger 1-inch (12.8 x 9.6 mm) MOS sensor, a 10x zoom lens and 4K video and photo capabilities.

‘People pay $500 to $1000 for a phone that they use photographically to replace a $150 camera, so the logic and capability of the 1-inch sensor cameras at $1000 is very saleable.’

At the free events Rob Mulally will share his creative skills, let people test out the newest Panasonic Lumix cameras and, at select locations, host an ‘Instameet’ to show how to take the best photos of iconic local attractions.

Rob has travelled to some of the world’s most visually stunning locations to capture them in his unique style, snapping everything from Icelandic horses, to sunrises over the Sydney Opera House, and attracting more than 50,000 Instagram followers along the way.

‘I look forward to meeting everyone and sharing my journey so far, teaching what I have learnt in creating unique images and talking about Instagram and other social media that can benefit your photography,’ he said.

The workshops starts in at Roydhouse Camera House Geelong on April 16 and finish up a month later in Cairns.

Those interested in taking part can register at www.camerahouse.com.au/tzroadtrip. The Lumix TZ110 is available this month with an RRP of $999.
